Wierd Scenes...

I happened upon this today by accident...I was walking from the place I now call "Home" as far as going coffee-drinking / writing.
The building in the images below are all of the same window on the second floor of a building on the corner of St-Denis and Laurier in Montreal.
Yes, these images are probably largely the work of coincidence and dirt and water, but where some men see coincidence, others see providence.
I honestly don't have an opinion one way or another...you decide.

I don't get it.

I know you don't...

The sky could rip in two and a host of Cherubim, Nephalim and Seraphim descend pulling a firey chariot with Alanis Morrissette (Or Morgan Freeman, depending on your pop culture diety of choice) riding within and you'd still ask for 2 pieces of photo ID.

That's why you're named for the guy (according to Christian mystics) who stuck his fingers through old J-C's nail-holes.

A shadow falls on a building and suddenly it is a religious experience?

I wasn't named for anyone who stuck their fingers in bloody wounds that far back, although, I *am* named after my great grandfather who had his share of gore in the first war to end all wars.

Ah, but dear old a-bomb...that's not what I was saying at all...I was referencing the etymological backstory of your name, as the apostle of whom I spoke doubted the veracity of everything that J.C. did...He was the Stephen Colbert to Jeezuz's Jon Stewart.

You must admit that when the names "Clarke, Sagan and WTL" are mentioned together, it is usually when it comes to the Great Skeptics of the Twentieth Century.

Now, as to what it was we were looking at, this phenomenon is visible at all hours of the day, from any angle.

It is not a shadow (Although it could be leftover Shadow technology) or a trick of the light; it is apparently made of dirt, dust, whatever, that has been deposited as sediment on the pane of glass that makes up the window.

Now, I am not saying it's the ever-present-in-American-burritos-and-smelly-underpasses Virgin Mary, or Jesus or God...What I am saying is, well I shouldn't have to spell it out, should I?

I posted about it because I found it rather curious, and my curiosity about is is very much ironic. I'm curious to see what other people make of it and why...I'm curious to see how other people react to it and why...

Now for a little easter egg for the readers who follow the discussions on here: a couple of URLs that lead to video I shot of the thing.

Commentary by me; at last, a recording of my voice on the Internets...hope it reaches your tubes...

Again, all I ask is that you look, see and judge for yourselves, and tell me what it is you see.

It surely tells me that that building needs it's windows cleaned. ;-)

I once saw what looked like the shape of a woman's head in my soup. Half a second later, I dunked my bread into that cream of mushroom goodness.

I find it is amazing how human beings will see faces/heads/specific people they have never met/etc in/on all kinds of stuff.

People are pattern-seekers.

Yes, people are pattern-seekers...I never said otherwise. But isn't it interesting how many patterns we've sought out that actually lead us to uncovering truth?
